What is the World Heritage Hub
The World Heritage Hub is a web portal that provides access to Copernicus information relevant to cultural and natural heritage. It features interactive tools and datasets from various Copernicus services, supporting evidence-based monitoring, conservation, and management of heritage sites across the globe.
Why did we create it?
The World Heritage Hub was developed to serve as a central access point for Earth observation data and geospatial information that can inform the protection and sustainable use of heritage sites. Its goal is to empower decision-makers, researchers, and site managers with the tools they need to track changes, assess risks, and preserve the world’s cultural and natural legacy for future generations.
Who is behind it
The World Heritage Hub has been developed by the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) under the Copernicus Programme. Copernicus is the European Union’s flagship Earth observation initiative, providing satellite and in-situ data to support informed decision-making. The Hub brings together datasets from multiple Copernicus services to help stakeholders monitor, manage, and preserve cultural and natural heritage sites around the world.
